Set Chrome as Default Browser

To set Chrome as your default browser is easy as 1-2-3.

For Mac

  1. Open your Chrome browser.
  2. Type chrome://settings in the address bar and hit enter.
  3. In the Default browser section, click Make Google Chrome the default browser.
    Note: You won't see this button if Google Chrome is already your default browser.

For Windows 10

  1. On your computer, click the Start menu Window 10 icon.
  2. Click Settings Window setting icon.
  3. Open your default apps:
    • Original version: Click System and then Default apps.
    • Creators Update: Click Apps and then Default apps.
  4. At the bottom, under Web browser, click your current browser (usually Microsoft Edge).
  5. In the Choose an app window, click Google Chrome.

For Windows 8 and below

  1. On your computer, click the Start menu Start menu Window 8 icon.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Click Programs and then Default Programs and then Set your default programs.
  4. On the left, select Google Chrome.
  5. Click Set this program as default.
  6. Click OK.
